Welcome to My Classroom - My Very Own Treasure Box :)
It is finally ready for the 2011-2012 school year!
This is our literacy centers wall - there is a combination of teacher created & students created centers.

Our computer station!
View of the back of the room! (still need to finish that BB)
Here is what I ended up doing with that BB - Book Awards!
(inpired by Beth Newinghem)
View from the classroom door. (the empty board space will be the new home of out SMARTboard)
Taaaada!!!!! My SMARTboard is up!!!! I'm sooooooooo excited!
(now if I could just get it to work....)
Now, how's that for organization of teacher's supplies?!?
Clip Chart
Classroom Library & Teacher's desk!
My Book Hospital!!!! <3
My Mrs. Zrihen .... read, is reading, will read chart!
What a great way to teach & model for kids how to plan their reading , and show them that I read too!
I actually painted the inside of the frame with chalkboard paint. However, after playing with it a little yesterday, I found that the inside frame is a perfect fit for a post-it!
The post-its are much more manageable because I can just move them from frame to frame when I'm done with them in each category.
My classroom sign inspired by PT & Pinterest!
Bulletin Board outside my classroom!
Posters are free!!
This lovely bulletin board was a joint effort between two wonderful 8th grade girls I had last year & myself. I was the visionary and they executed it!
This is a board right outside of my classroom door that displays one student per grade level (6th, 7th, 8th) weekly and features a picture of the student holding a book they would like to "buzz" about.
Below the picture there is space for an index card where the featured student writes the title & author of the book along with their recommendation.
This is another bulletin board outside my classroom (out in the hall) where students write the title, author, and setting of the book they read on an index card and stretch a piece of yarn to the location on the map.
A really great way to tie in Reading & Social Studies!
A plain & simple look to the outside of my classroom door.
I would love to hear suggestions how to add pizzaz to it!
Another picture of my teacher's desk, library, centers, and entrance of the room.
Another picture of my desk with my finished pencil vase & framed wordle.
My pencil vase with sunflowers (they make so happy) & framed wordle :)
My "Hall of Fame" :)
My degree & certification (if lawyers and doctors put up, shouldn't we?!?)
My classroom sign, passes, personal BB, and "Mrs. Zrihen is reading..." display
A close-up of the items on my teacher's desk!
haha, can you see my addiction to pinterest & PT crafts?
p.s. everyone at work is obssessing over my lollipop plant!
Teacher's Area
I just love my library!!!! yet another picture :)
I also have beach mats & foldable beach chairs for the kids to take out as nooks and spread in the library.
Here is the front and back of my Journal Jars!
I'm thinking about adding more...
I plan on taking a virtual tour of my room using my flip video next week. I will add it to here.

Okay, can I just say I L-O-V-E that "has read, is reading, and will read" chart. How did you make that? It's awesome! Your room looks great :)

Thanks!!! I bought the hanging frame at Michaels. It was on sale and if I remember correctly under $5. I just painted it with acrylic paint and decorated it with whatever I had at home (I had the paint & decorations in a craft box since 2001 when I joined a sorority :)
ReplyDeleteI than wrote on it with a sharpie :)
Cute, cheap, and easy project!
