Readers'
Mystery Package!
As I was browsing through Pinterest this morning, I ran into this pin by The Inspired Apple
It inspired me to redo & upgrade my own Mystery Package!
I made this package (it was a shoe box originally) as an undergraduate student during student-teaching and pretended the author of the book sent me this package in the mail.
I placed 3-5 items in the box that related to the story we were going to read to help the students build background knowledge for the story.
It's about dramatizing it for the kids!!!!
I used to put a real stamp on it and even ask someone from the office to deliver
it to my class while we were in class :)
I used it to teach the students to infer & make predictions.
Abby from The Inspired Apple used a diy mailbox she bought in Target.
I looked for it online but couldn't find it.
SOOOOOOOOOO.....
I looked for it online but couldn't find it.
SOOOOOOOOOO.....
I decided to use Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins Take Away box because it is FREE!!!!
I then created the templates below to glue over the box.
(again inspired by Abby from The Inspired Apple)
I also created Clue Cards & Solution templates.
The teacher can give the students the clues or
let them shake it, smell it, feel it, listen to it to figure it out.
They can work together as a whole group or in small groups.
This also works great for guided reading :)
This works for ANY story!!!!!!
Kids LOVE a good MYSTERY!
You can buy the templates for the Mystery Package from my TpT store

I bet the kids will LOVE this!!
