Fabulous Figurative Language!

Last week before we went on Spring Break we created this fabulous Figurative Language
journal foldable booklets.

Figurative Language is by far my kids favorite lesson of the year!!!!

They sing, act, draw, cut, glue, and socialize! They are so engaged and I love it!!

We do so many fun activities with this lesson and this one is one of them.
We use magazines & comic strips to create this one.

Check out one of my kids work :)

We rap to our infamous figurative language rap
{my orevious middle schoolers - now 10th & 11th graders still sing it!}
We play pictionary & charades to different phrases, and many more activities.

I find it hysterical that after this lesson they walk around the school using fig. language expressions to "show off" their knowledge. They love sharing their booklets with one another and seeing who found "cooler" expressions.

Did I mention that this is the perfect alternative assessment tool?!?

    1. We illustrate them as well. I try to do different activities every year because I see the same kids 3 years in a row :)
